No Hunger Initiatives Community News (NHICON) is the official communication platform of the No Hunger Initiatives Community. Our vision is a Nigeria and Africa free from hunger, inequality, nutrition insecurity, and preventable human suffering. NHICON’s mission is to amplify voices, ideas, and actions that drive sustainable solutions for hunger eradication, public health nutrition security, community-shared tech-powered agribusiness transformation, community empowerment, and inclusive socioeconomic development.

As part of our editorial goals, we welcome thoughtful, original, and solution-driven contributions that align with our vision, mission, and programs, including:
– Hunger eradication, agri-food systems transformation, and food security
– Sustainable livelihoods, food sovereignty, and community empowerment
– Local and indigenous food and economic justice, food systems Justice, food sovereignty, bio-cultural nutrition security, community-based food equity, digital-related agribusiness opportunities, and awareness campaigns, food pantry initiatives for unemployed, educated IDP students, and youth.
– Humanitarian and social impact initiatives
– Policy advocacy for Zero Hunger (SDG 2) and related SDGs

We publish articles, op-eds, research summaries, and community stories that inspire action, foster dialogue, and promote evidence-based solutions.

Guidelines for Submission:

1. Originality
– We only accept original, unpublished works.
– Submissions cannot have appeared elsewhere — including personal blogs, newsletters, or social media.

2. Relevance
– Your piece should connect to NHICON’s focus on eliminating hunger, addressing socio-economic inequalities, or showcasing humanitarian initiatives.
– We welcome fresh perspectives, informed analysis, and stories of local action with global relevance.

3. Length
– Preferred length: **600–1,000 words.
– Longer works may be considered if they bring significant insight or research value.

4. Clarity and Style
– Use clear, accessible language for a diverse audience.
– Avoid unnecessary jargon, yet maintain accuracy and credibility.

5. Author Information
– Include a short bio (2–3 sentences) highlighting your background and connection to humanitarian, sustainable development, or community work.
– Provide a high-quality headshot and disclose any relevant affiliations or potential conflicts of interest.

Submission Process

Format:
– Submit your article as a Word document to editor@nohungerfoodbank.org.
– Include your proposed headline, full name, and contact details.

Subject Line:
Use: “NHICON Submission – [Headline of Your Piece]”

Editorial Review:
– Every submission is reviewed for originality, clarity, and alignment with NHICON’s mission.
– Due to high volume, we may not be able to send feedback for all submissions, but we will contact you if your work is selected.

Editing:
– Accepted pieces will be edited for factual accuracy, clarity, grammar, and adherence to NHICON’s style.
– Significant changes will be discussed with the author before publication.

Publication:
– We prioritize timely publication for relevant topics but cannot guarantee specific dates.

 

Standards

Accuracy:
– Authors are responsible for ensuring factual accuracy. Please cite reputable sources where necessary.

Respectful Discourse:
– We encourage constructive, respectful dialogue. Avoid personal attacks, stereotyping, or defamatory remarks.

Exclusivity:
– By submitting to NHICON, you agree not to submit the same article elsewhere until we provide a decision.
– If published, NHICON holds exclusive rights for an agreed period, after which re-publication permission can be requested.
